We are nearing the official release of 1Passwd version 1.5! It has been a long haul but we have just released a Prerelease version of 1.5 to the website. (if you want to try prereleases, subscribe to the newsletter)
Please note that prereleases are not for the faint-of-heart, so please don’t upgrade to the new version if you don’t enjoy being on the ‘bleeding edge’. With that being said, we have tested this version completely and it brings several key new features, such as:
1. Greatly simplified install process
The install process has been simplified big time!

2. New disk image layout The new layout removes the confusion created by the old images and superfluous files and focuses your eye on the main task: the installation process.

3. Browser extensions are now installed and removed automatically
The new Setup Assistant will automatically install the browser extensions for you.

If you want to remove the extensions for any reason, you can use the configure them individually in the new Browsers preferences panel.

When adding extensions to browsers, it is very important that you restart any running browsers. In this release we added some helpful alerts about this.
For Safari and Camino, it is possible to install the extensions while they are running:

For Firefox and Flock, it is mandatory to exit the browsers before the extensions can be installed:

4. The “Change All” feature is working again
One of the most painful aspects of upgrading 1Passwd has been solved. For a few releases, our poor users needed to manually click “Always Allow” on each of their keychain items when viewing them in the 1Passwd application (not from the browser).
This silliness has been replaced by a single “Change All” prompt:

Conclusion
These new changes make it a snap to upgrade to new versions of 1Passwd. We are working on AutoUpdate now and hope to release it with v1.5 in the next week or two.
As always, we’d love to hear from you! Please join us in the forum.
