1Password Now Available in App Store!

1Password was accepted into the App Store early Tuesday morning and the flood gates were opened! Email and forum posts just poured in for the first 48 hours and while things have calmed down a bit the mail is 300% higher than normal still.
On Tuesday we set a new record for the most users online in our forum with 1,071 people coming to learn about the new application. These users posted over a 1000 posts along with almost 1000 direct emails.
Needless to say, it has been a crazy week here at Agile! Our main Customer Support specialists Gita, Carl are doing a fantastic job, and the rest of the team has been pitching in as much as possible while still trying to update web sites, 1Password versions, and everything else that needed to be done despite the ongoing Tsunami.
Thankfully we all had a lot of BrainToniq to keep us going :)
Using 1Password for iPhone/iPod touch

To use this new application you need to install the latest version of 1Password for Mac and download 1Password for iPhone/iPod touch from the App Store.
The best way to get up to speed is by watching a video. Don McAllister, renowned creator of ScreencastsOnline.com has made a great video on using 1Password for iPhone/iPod touch. Better yet, you can subscribe to Don's RSS feed for this and other great videos: RSS Feed (HD) or RSS Feed (iPod)
The User Guide for the iPhone application is in its infancy but provides a good start: User Guide
If you have any issues or ideas for improvement, please refer to the READ ME FIRST!! Everything You Need to Know forum thread. Most likely we already documented a solution or answer.
In the News
While this has been a very stressful week, we are elated by the fantastic feedback we have received from everyone on how much they enjoyed 1Password for iPhone/iPod touch as well as pointing out where we need to improve.
By the second day, 1Password had already jumped into the Top 50 Free Applications list. Yesterday I took this screenshot on my iPhone for use in this blog post:

Amazingly just one day later 1Password jumped to within a hair of the Top 25!

As you can see, 1Password is at #26 (on the US store), just behind Magic8ball. While I like the 8 Ball, I love the Top 25 list and am hoping for the best! In fact, in Germany, 1Password has made the Top 10 list and is sitting at #5:

In addition to the Top Free Applications list, the reviews 1Password has gotten so far are amazing! Over 200 reviews with an average rating of 4 out of 5 stars have been written!

As if that was not enough, posts like this one from ZDNet by Jason D. O'Grady kept us smiling as we answered over 1000 messages:
On 10 June 2008 I wrote that the #1 missing iPhone feature was a keychain-type of application that stored passwords so that they could easily be entered into Web forms.
I use that in the past tense because Apple has approved Agile Web Solutions’ 1Password iPhone application for distribution in the App Store. Rejoice! The iPhone client is a free download and synchronizes with the 1Password desktop application (US$35).
It’s a truly must-have application in today’s world of a million passwords and logins for everything.
Thank you Jason and everyone else for the wonderful posts about 1Password for iPhone/iPod touch.
Please keep the reviews and comments coming, but, please do allow a week for us to recover before expecting a reply :)
Woops! The one screenshot is from the Canadian App Store. IIRC, the ranking was within 1 on the US store at the time I took that pic.

Gentlemen, I have been using your application for iPod Touch, and it is a nice app and I expect you are aware of the bugs that are being reported. I would like to mention one, of which you are probably aware: The changes made to Notes (and probably other sections?) on the iPod get removed when synchronizing with the desktop version of 1Password. I hope you get some sleep in the coming week...

iPhone Notes do not synchronize with the MAC OS X Notes.
The iPhone Application crashes when trying to access the notes.
No integration with iPhone Safari.

As hard as it was to wait for this app to come and replace Lockbox, it was well worth it. Great job, you guys, and thanks for the great app.
(but, yes, accessing the notes tab crashes for me too)

Had it for a while, and still loving it. One of the very few apps I did NOT erase after a while.
Functionality, design, "vibration" (I'm very sensitive). it's all there!
Hallelujah

It looks nice and seems to work well, but ... I don't get it:
With this new 1Password iPhone App, w are forced to use the built-in [limited] browser instead of iPhone's Safari in order to use the product. Am I missing something?
The prior version of iPhone sync (in the Safari Bookmarks) seemed to work well, and I used it all the time in Safari and enjoyed it. Why was that feature removed??

I still find that I have to shut down my firewall so as to sync my ipod touch 1-password with my laptop's database. This is something I really hate doing. It feels a bit analogous to taking off my underwear in a public park. Not exactly a comfortable experience. Can you please fix this in future updates?
My config: PowerBook G4 (PPC), Mac OS 10.4.11, latest 1-password on both devices.

@Luke
You need to open port in your firewall and then change 1Password preferences to use a fixed port number for Wi-Fi syncing. You can find more information about it in the forums:

Why doesn't the iPhone app sync and include the wallet entries on the desktop, and when will this function be added? This is a key function of 1Password, and if it will be a long time, I might as well use SplashId.

@Phil: "soon" :)
Seriously, we have everything we need in place to make this possible, we just need to put out a few fires first and then focus on this.
We are actually hamstrung at the moment b/c with each update we release to the App Store, people run the risk of hitting the iTunes bug where all your data is deleted when upgrading. I plan on not releasing any new versions for a few weeks so that Apple has time to address this serious issue.

I have installed both the iPod version (touch) and the Mac desktop version and while the desktop version seems to operate flawlessly, I have issues with the iPod version that I'd like to have working most. I will certainly keep my eye on the updates and load them as they come to see if I can switch entirely to this product. Keep up the good work!
